CULBIN CONNECTION

In about 1420, Sir Thomas de Kinnaird, from the Perthshire line of Kinnairds, married Dame Egidia Murray, the heiress of Culbin. Their son, Alan, became the first laird of Culbin in 1458. The last laird of Culbin was Alexander (eight generations later). Sand eventually claimed the fertile farming country.  Many of the present day Lossiemouth Kinnaird families originate from this family and hence from the original ancestor, Radulphus Ruffus.
